1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Cabriolet by Pininfarina Chassis 412012, engine 422008 – Beragampengetahuan

The Alfa Romeo 8C was probably the most technically advanced, modern and compelling sports car that money could buy in the 1930s – and the model is highly sought today by collectors who appreciate the way exquisite classic coachwork is often paired with a car that is mechanically strong and a delight to beragampengetahuan.

This particular 1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B now bears a cabriolet body by Pinin Farina and is finished in Gunmetal Gray, but it was first delivered as a cycle-fendered competition car to Piero Dusio, who would be instrumental in forming Cisitalia and who raced this car exclusively, retaining it until 1942.

It began life as an open-wheeled, cycle-fendered race car and participated in five races with top results including a 3rd place finish in the 1938 Mille Miglia and a 1st place finish in the 1938 Stelvio Hill Climb – a triumphant completion of its competition career.

The car was rebodied after its racing career was done. Some of this car’s midlife is not known and for a time the engine and body were separated, but Terry Cohn acquired them and undertook their restoration. In 1999, the car’s current owner purchased the car from Cohn.
