The Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand is nearing the end of the group stage with several spots in the knockout rounds yet to be decided.

There was plenty of drama in the final round of groups in the men’s World Cup last winter and the women’s edition will be no different.

Saturday also sees two of the tournament’s heavyweights go head to head as France take on Brazil in a huge battle which will likely decide which team finishes top of Group F and avoid a likely last 16 meeting with two-time world champions Germany.

Sweden also play Italy on Saturday morning in an all-European battle that will likely decide the winner of Group G, which could mean avoiding the defending champions USA in the next round.

Panama and Jamaica do battle in the afternoon kick off in a battle between two North American sides, with the Reggae Girlz in buoyant mood after their surprise draw with France on the opening matchday.

Sunday sees the final matchday in Group A in which all four teams can still either go through or head out of the tournament.

Switzerland and New Zealand currently occupy the top two spots, but play each other, meaning a win for the Philippines or Norway in the other match will likely put into the next round.

Germany also take on Colombia in the late match which sees the top two in Group H go head to head. The former side looked impressive in their 6-0 win over Morocco while the South American side upset the odds to beat South Korea in their opening game.
