Official Trailer for ‘The Enfield Poltergeist’ – Chilling Horror Doc Series

“Experience the original recordings.” And get ready to be never sleep again! Apple has unveiled an official trailer for a chilling horror documentary series called The Enfield Poltergeist, about a real paranormal occurrence in Britain. Arriving for streaming in October just in time for Halloween, of course. London. 1977. Dread. This four-part documentary revisits the supposedly real-life haunting of a family with four kids in ’70s London. “Experience the chilling true story of the world’s most famous poltergeist case through original audio recordings made inside the house as the events unfolded.” Also with appearances by those originally involved in the incident involving sisters Janet and Margaret Hodgson. There was already a British drama series made in 2015 about this same occurrence called The Enfield Haunting. And it’s the same incident that is depicted in James Wan’s horror film The Conjuring 2 (from back in 2016). This new series is directed by acclaimed doc filmmaker Jerry Rothwell, of The Reason I Jump, and features a “re-imagining” with actors on a set re-enacting the recordings. Even the voiceover in this trailer is quite freaky, too! Ha. Have a listen.

The Enfield Poltergeist series relies on more than 250 hours of audio archive to help recreate the infamous events in Enfield that went on to inspire The Conjuring 2. Throughout four episodes, the events at Enfield are reconstructed using recordings captured by Maurice Grosse, a paranormal investigator who archived all of his interviews from back in the day. The doc built a replica of the council house where the incidents took place so performers could reenact what is heard on the tapes. The Enfield Poltergeist is directed by the acclaimed British doc filmmaker Jerry Rothwell, director of the doc films Deep Water, Heavy Load, Donor Unknown, Town of Runners, How to Change the World, Sour Grapes, The School in the Cloud, and The Reason I Jump previously. Produced for Apple TV+ by MetFilm and Concordia Studios. Exec produced by Nicole Stott, Jonathan Silberberg, Davis Guggenheim, Al Morrow, Stewart le Maréchal. Apple will debut The Enfield Poltergeist series streaming on Apple TV+ starting October 27th, 2023 coming soon. Scary?
