Sky Sports were forced to apologise for Tiger Woods’ language after he shouted ‘f***’ live at the Hero World Challenge.

The golf legend staged his latest comeback from injury as tournament host at Albany Golf Course on Thursday.

Woods has made just two competitive starts in 2023 and underwent subtalar fusion surgery in April to manage the effects of his near-fatal car crash in 2021.

He could barely walk at the Masters seven months ago and expectations were low on Thursday, but the 47-year-old demonstrated some remarkable speed and power considering his recent injuries.

However, Woods also showed mental rustiness and fatigue from the 15th hole onwards.

The 15-time major winner found himself stuck in a bush and instead of taking an unplayable drop, he opted to attempt a shot out of trouble.

Unfortunately for Woods, his effort moved the ball a mere yard and he expressed his frustration by shouting ‘F***’ near the camera.

Sky Sports anchor Henni Koyack was forced to apologise for the rude language.

On the 16th hole, a poor chip shot by Woods was met with ‘f****** grainy’ and yet another ‘f***’.

These errors sparked a collapse from Woods, who double-bogeyed the 15th, before bogeying the following two holes.

Woods made par at the final hole and carded a 75 to finish at 3-over par for his first competitive round in 236 days.

Explaining the strange decision on 15, Woods told reporters the only alternative option was to drop into spectators’ footprints, which resulted in the failed attempt to hack out.

When asked about his overall thoughts on the return, Woods said: “I was rusty, I didn’t have my feels. I didn’t finish off my round the way I needed to.

“Consequently it kind of went sideways at the end. I didn’t commit to some shots… all the kind of things I normally take for granted.”

He added: “I am going to be sore , that is for sure. We have some stuff to do tonight to get ready for tomorrow and then head back into the gym to get right after it.”
