Barcelona director Deco to meet 18-year-old whizkid in Brazil on Monday – Beragampengetahuan

Barcelona are working round the clock to ensure the arrival of Vitor Roque in the upcoming January transfer window, as recently confirmed by the club’s economic vice president Eduard Romeu.

At the same time, Barça’s sporting director Deco has taken total control of the transfer and is closely monitoring the development of Roque, who is currently nursing an injury.

Deco to meet Vitor Roque in Brazil

According to a report from SPORT, Deco is currently enjoying a few days in Brazil, and the stage is set for him to meet Vitor Roque on Monday.

The meeting is taking place on account of the assessment of the player’s fitness, as he is still yet to recover from his ankle injury.

Roque’s agent has maintained that the forward will be able to make a return to the pitch in four weeks’ time. He may even get to play the last few matches of the Brasileirao season for Athletico Paranaense.

Roque had been a crucial attacking outlet for Athletico PR this year, racking up 20 goals in all competitions, 11 of which came in the league.

Can Barcelona register Roque in January?

Although Barça are doing everything possible to register Vitor Roque in January, the board of members are approaching this issue very cautiously.

In order to register the Brazilian, Barça must free up Financial Fair Play margins, which could be tricky considering the fact that the club had already trimmed the squad in the summer.

Not to mention, the Catalans are yet to find a resolution on Gavi’s contract registration. This, coupled with the team’s lack of depth, could make things tricky, as far as the registration of Roque is concerned.

It is, therefore, not entirely ruled out that Roque will spend his time in Brazil until next summer, but the aim remains to bring him into the team in January.
