Barcelona’s strongest line-up for the 2023/24 season and potential signings – Beragampengetahuan

With just two weeks left before the new season gets underway, the time is running out for Barcelona to assemble the new team, as they look to retain their La Liga crown.

Up until now, the club have done a fairly decent job in the transfer market, roping in Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, and Oriol Romeu while reaching an agreement to sign Vitor Roque.

We will take a look at Barcelona’s strongest lineup based on the current team.

Barça’s strongest XI

Recent rumours suggest Xavi Hernandez might look to experiment with his formation due to the new additions.

But the strongest lineup will likely be a 4-3-3, with last season’s top performer Marc-Andre ter Stegen starting in between the sticks.

Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen had built a formidable partnership last season and should remain in central defence.

Due to the lack of a recognised right-back, Jules Kounde may have to continue in that position as well, while Alejandro Balde is a sure starter on the opposite flank.

Things start to get interesting in the midfield department. Following the addition of Gundogan and Romeu, Xavi has a few decisions to make.

However, as far as the strongest Barcelona team is concerned, de Jong features in the pivot alongside Gundogan, with Pedri operating in the interior role.

Romeu is an option, but the Spaniard has endured a poor start, having failed to impress in recent friendlies.

That leaves out Gavi from midfield, but the youngster will be deployed at left-wing, in light of Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati’s inconsistencies.

Ousmane Dembele, meanwhile, should get the nod ahead of Raphinha at right-wing.

The Barcelona attack will be headed by none other than Robert Lewandowski, the top scorer in La Liga last season.

It will be interesting to see if the Pole can replicate his tally in the coming season.

Potential new signings for Barcelona

Judging by this squad, there is no doubt Barcelona need to bring in new more fresh faces. One of the problem areas that need addressing is the right-back position, especially with Kounde unhappy with the role.

Barcelona have recently reignited their pursuit of Ivan Fresneda. The young right-back from Real Valladolid could be a gamble, but also a necessity for Barça, if they are to complete the team ahead of the new season.

Another player Barcelona need is either an attacking midfielder or a winger. The Catalans were linked with a move for Bernardo Silva earlier in the month, but the Portuguese international is far too expensive for the club.

That brings Abde Ezzalzouli into the picture. The young Moroccan is coming on the back of an excellent season with CA Osasuna and could be a major wild card for Xavi next season.

The Barcelona coach has shown the desire to keep Abde at the club this summer, but Barcelona might be forced to cash in on the attacker due to financial constraints.

Finally, Barcelona can soon enjoy the services of Vitor Roque, but the Brazilian is unlikely to be a part of the team at least during the first half of the campaign.
