A local couple have transformed their dual living Brinkin home into a “perfect oasis” but a change in plans means the property is now up for grabs.
The owners bought the two-storey property at 7 Brinkin Tce two years ago, after specifically searching in their favoured northern suburb.
“We sought out this pocket when we bought because we love Brinkin,” the man of the house said.
“It’s the most magnificent location and it offers unparalleled coastal living, really.
“It’s a stone’s throw from the beach and the vibrant surf club.
“We go down there and enjoy sundowners and music, and we take leisurely strolls on the beach with the dogs.
“It has a real community feel but it’s a quiet little pocket, too.
“I work from home and it’s just magnificent – it’s dead silent most of the day and night.”

The owner said the house had been thoughtfully designed to suit the 1200sq m block.
“The orientation of the house captures the cool ocean breezes and the high ceilings create this airy, spacious feel,” he said.
“It’s a solid block construction, built to last. And with the layout, we essentially have two homes in one, so it is very versatile.
“You can have someone rent (one of the levels) or accommodate extended family.
“For us, it’s really great because we’re a big family but we’re spread out across Australia.
“Our kids can easily come visit with their partners or friends.”

The couple completely updated the property to suit their lifestyle.
“We’ve done a lot to the home,” the owner said.
“We did a meticulous renovation tailored to our highest standards.
“It has been completely modernised with everything from top notch appliances and state of the art electrics through to LED lighting.”

On the ground floor, the home has three bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, a laundry, a bathroom and a storage area.
An open plan living, dining and kitchen area opens to the poolside patio, while internal stairs lead up to the second level.
The downstairs kitchen has an island bench and premium appliances.
Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms, also with built-in wardrobes, a family bathroom and a powder room.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen space has raked ceilings with exposed beams and sliding doors opening to the wraparound balcony.

The kitchen on this floor has an island bench, premium appliances and pendent lighting.
Outside there is an in-ground pool, established gardens and lawns and a spiral staircase leading to the balcony.
The block is fully fenced.
The owner said the property was fabulous for entertaining or just enjoying the Top End lifestyle.
“It’s a perfect oasis for relaxation,” he said.
“It has that resort feel.”
The property is close to Casuarina Square, the hospitals and the university.
“We’ll be sad to leave this home,” the owner said.
“We renovated it for ourselves but our plans have now changed.”
