Sharing our fun (yet chaotic) dining experience at Classic Savory in Ayala Fairview Terraces.
and I suddenly realized that it was actually one of the best Filipino
Chinese restaurants around. I have eaten at Classic Savory in previous years
but I don’t remember their food to be noteworthy, so I guess they might have
made improvements in their selections. Not only that, Classic Savory’s
prices are fairly affordable, especially their group meals which are
practical if you are eating there as a family.
The ambiance at Classic Savory
There’s really nothing noteworthy in terms of the ambiance at Classic Savory.
It’s generally a busy buzz during lunch or dinner time. The interiors look
generic but they are clean and orderly, plus the tables are not too cramped.
Lucky for us, we always get a good corner table whenever we eat at Classic
Savory. We were eating with children so expect our meals to be chaotic. I was
continuously chasing Rafa and pleading him to eat his food. Miguel was
generally quiet throughout the meal but he would just occasionally give the
chicken a pinch to get the crunchy skin.
Our table was mostly messy with bits of rice, soup, and strands of noodles
everywhere but it was a happy family lunch for us.
What we ordered
We ordered a group meal with crab and corn soup, fried chicken, yang chow
fried rice, fish and tofu with tausi sauce, salt and pepper pork spare ribs,
and Miki Bihon Binondo.
The children loved the fried because I was told it was flavorful plus the
gravy was also good. I particularly loved the fish and tofu with tausi sauce.
It was rich and loaded with satisfying goodness; the fish was meaty and the
tofu was firm and fresh. I also found the Miki Bihon Binondo to be excellent,
I can eat it any time of the day. In a separate visit to Classic Savory, I got
to try the Pancit Bihon which I also liked.
Overall, the food was satisfyingly good.

All in all, our experience at Classic Savory has been nothing but
unforgettable. The food is delicious (our kids love them!), the service is
efficient, and the prices are friendly.
