Princess Mary’s humble childhood home revealed – Beragampengetahuan
Take a look inside the soon-to-be Crown Queen of Denmark’s childhood home.
Nestled on the edge of the Derwent River and outskirts of Hobart is the suburb of Taroona, once home to the soon-to-be Queen of Denmark.
Long before her royal stature, Princess Mary grew up in a house at Morris Ave in the beachside area of Tasmania which has since become home to other stars.
The four-bedroom home was last sold for $175,000 in December 2001 and was listed for rent in May 2022 at $550 a week.

Australian actor Marta Dusseldorf also owned property on the same street at one stage but relocated at the end of last year to be closer to the water.
LJ Hooker Pinnacle Property partner Alison Rogers said Taroona was one of Hobart’s premium suburbs as it had “lovely views” and was in proximity to the city.
“It is on the water and if (the homes) are not on the water, they usually have water views,” Ms Rogers said.
“There are some areas in Taroona that also have some bushland behind so it’s generally a very pretty setting, it’s quite scenic.
“It’s a very tightly held suburb; it’s very rare for these properties to come up because it’s not as commercialised or as busy as Sandy Bay, but still enjoys very similar views.”

She added that the suburb was largely made up of professional, white collar workers as it was an affluent area.
Ms Rogers said the vendors had told her that quite often people drove by their house as Princess Mary used to live there.
“Morris Ave certainly has seemed to be popular, people just seem to like it,” she said.
“Whether it be because of the fame attached to it from past residence or whether it’s just, I mean it is a pretty street.”

View Real estate chief executive and Real Estate Institute of Tasmania former president Adrian Kelly said suburbs like Sandy Bay and Taroona had quite high demand and were “probably going to do quite well” this year.
“Taroona is a great suburb and bordering on Taroona is Kingston and then further down is Blackmans Bay; all good suburbs because they’ve all got great water views,” Mr Kelly said.
“Hobart is pretty much landlocked and sealocked, so once you step outside of those suburbs to some of the blue collar working class suburbs, it’s a completely different story.
“So the market will change as soon as you cross from one street corner to the other.”
