‘Succession’ Season Four Fashion Recap: Where to Shop All the Looks – Beragampengetahuan

While some of the biggest shows on television today are known for outlandish, eye-catching fashion (Emily Cooper, we’re looking at you), that has never really been Succession’s thing. Yes, the Roys have the money to snatch up the viral JW Anderson pigeon clutch (or ten) and Shiv’s New York City closet has enough space to house just as many Manolo Blahnik heels, Gucci jackets, and Fendi bags as Carrie Bradshaw’s. Despite that fact, the Roy daughter rarely ever wears an easily-labeled item of clothing. Like the rest of her family, she opts for quiet (or coded) luxury, low-key pieces, not easily identified unless you’re ridiculously wealthy or well-versed in inconspicuous fashion. That doesn’t make the clothes of Succession less intriguing. Quite the opposite, in fact. The cast’s wardrobes (put together by costume designer Michelle Matland) are often excessively chic thanks to their simplistic nature, and the added struggle to identify them makes the desire for them that much greater. Below, starting with episode one, we decode some of these looks so you can start dressing like a Roy (and avoid any “ludicrously capacious” bags). Check back here throughout the season as we outline the latest looks and where to get them.

There’s a condescension to Matsson that seeps out of every single one of his pores. It seems wholly important to him to prove at every turn that he is smarter, chiller, more successful than everyone he interacts with, or at the very least, the Roys. But it’s not just the way Matsson speaks, flings about insults, or carries himself that allows him to exude the initial impression of indifference, but also the way he dresses. While Kendall tries very hard (and spends a whole lot of money) to look as low key as possible, Matsson actually just looks low key. The GoJo CEO dresses like a modern day outdoorsmen, albeit a fairly successful one who seems to exclusively wear pieces from Swiss brand Fjällräven. It works on a guy like Matsson, who no doubt has all the money in the world, but is still clearly desperate to in some way remain close to the common man.

It might have taken Shiv a bit of time to find her footing in episode five, but when it came to her looks, she delivered from minute one. The first time we see Shiv in “Kill List,” she’s in the Waystar offices wearing a white blouse under a Max Mara pinstripe vest (similar styles below), proving that while she may not have gotten the CEO job, that won’t stop her from dressing for it. Later, she embraces her Norweigan surroundings (while still stay true to Shiv) and dons a plaid Mackage trench coat, but clearly, she was having blazer withdrawal, because before the episode is over, the mom-to-be was back in her tried-and-true plaid blazer with a white cashmere turtleneck underneath, this time courtesy of Ralph Lauren.

We are slowly getting treated to more J. Smith Cameron this season, and thank god for that, because moments like that little pump up speech she delivered on the plane are currently too few and far between. Gerri reminded all of Waystar to stay positive when among the “soft, hammocked in their Social Security safety net, sick on vacation mania, and free health care” Europeans, and did so in a gorgeous, corduroy blazer from the very European brand Brunello Cucinelli.

It took him awhile, but Tom is finally catching onto the stealth wealth train, and took what was likely a much-needed shopping trip to Brunello Cucinelli to reinforce his wardrobe. Unfortunately, he brought out his pieces at the wrong time. While everyone else was embracing camping chic for the Norwegian get away, Tom looked a bit out of place in his cashmere vest and too-bright Tod’s sneakers.

It’s not often we highlight Karl’s looks here, but he’s had quite a few big moments in the last two episodes, between his take down of Tom in “Honeymoon States” and his full transformation to compression sock wearing curmudgeon in “Kill List.” When he’s not wearing a robe, however, he is looking pretty dapper in a quilted Paul Stuart jacket and thick-rimmed Vasuma glasses.

We’re still waiting for Willa’s wardrobe to catch up to her new-found net worth. In the words of Marcia, “Look how far [she’s] come.” Still, her outfits leave a lot to be desired and she continues to dress more like Greg’s ill-fated date in episode one than a true Roy. Her look in “Honeymoon States” is just not appropriate for a wake. We would give a pass if, say, Kendall’s daughter showed up in it (side note, where were his kids?), but for Willa to arrive in a flirty mini skirt matching set with calf-high boots means that despite all of the time she has spent with the Roys over the years, she still just doesn’t get it. And don’t even get us started on that choker. While for a second, at her rehearsal dinner, it seemed like maybe she was entering a new phase in her style journey, it seems at this point, Willa will remain just outside of the stealth wealth circle. At least now she’ll have a $63 million closet for all of her Sandro sets.

If Rihanna and her pregnancy dressing lives on one end of the maternity style spectrum, Shiv Roy is on the complete other end. Despite being in the second trimester of her pregnancy, Shiv is not trying to show off her bump in any way, covering up in an Alexander McQueen houndstooth blazer (very similar to the Altuzarra she wore in episode two). Of course, her decision to keep her big news private (from even the father), isn’t too surprising, Waystar Royco doesn’t exactly seem like the corporation that has a “women can do it all” mentality.

Even when Kendall mourns, he does so in style. The newly-appointed CEO started episode four very much in his feels, crying in his multi-million dollar apartment while wearing a $1,200 Tom Ford sweatshirt. Eventually, though, Kendall was seemingly able to get a few moments in with his “grief guy,” change into a more appropriate polo, and head off to take control of Waystar.

Ahead of her doomed nuptials, the newest Roy opted for a sleeveless Ted Baker dress with a wrap detail on the front that mimicked the suit she wore to her doomed rehearsal dinner last episode (we’re sensing a theme here). The dress is very affordable in the world of Succession, but now that she officially has access to Roy money, we expect her clothing budget to raise substantially.

Connor and Willa decided to move forward with their wedding, Logan’s death be damned, but the circumstances surrounding the day meant we only got a glimpse of Willa’s bridal look. Mrs. Roy opted to wear a (now discontinued) lace halter neck gown from Essense of Australia, with a price tag so low at $1,800, it’s almost like she forgot who she was marrying. Connor, meanwhile, went classic (and off the rack), opting for a Hugo Boss tuxedo for his big day. Perhaps the presidential hopeful wanted him and his wife to seem approachable by the public on their wedding day.

Shiv loves to disrespect a wedding with her wardrobe choices and when she arrived to Connor’s wedding boat, many quipped that she look dressed for a funeral. Little did they know how relevant her all-black look would soon become. Shiv attended the supposedly joyous event in a black suit jacket with a leather lapel (Tom Ford, of course), and a gold chain halter top. Not your typical wedding attire. In her defense, the logistics of Willa and Connor’s wedding were a little confusing, so it’s unclear if Shiv planned to change for the ceremony, or if she was going to stay true to her black pants throughout the evening. We will, of course, never know, but either way, the suit is a good one, and we found the jacket as well as a similar top and pants so you can recreate it (maybe just opt for a more put-together hair style if you’re heading to a wedding)..

Gerri arrived to Connor’s wedding ready for an audience with the Queen in her Scanlan Theodore grayish-brown skirt suit and matching hat tipped just so. Of course, there was no royal ending for Waystar’s general council in episode three, though she did end up in a better position than originally expected. Don’t count Gerri out just yet, she’s dressed to kill and she is not afraid to take the shot.

After going rather casual during the wheelings and dealings of the premiere episode, Shiv’s executive fashion sense returned in episode two with the help of an Altuzarra suit comprised of wide-leg, paper bag pants and a houndstooth wool blazer. Underneath, Shiv added a silk cowl neck blouse from Lafayette 148—not exactly normal karaoke attire, but Shiv clearly didn’t know where the night was going to take her when she got dressed in the morning. While the pants and top are, unfortunately, sold out, we found similar options (as well as her exact blazer) below.

For episode two, Kendall traded in one obscenely priced piece of outerwear for another, though he still kept it in the Tom Ford family. The new-found Buddhist stuck with his nondescript Loro Piana hat and (not pictured) limited edition Jacques Marie Mage sunglasses from the premiere, but he traded out the suede zip-up for a hyper casual hoodie. Unfortunately, the sunglasses—which were created by the Los Angeles-based brand in conjunction with Jeremy Strong specifically for the show—as well as the hoodie, are no longer available, so we found some similar pieces to hold you over. And of course, we have those Tom Ford sneakers that completed our Buddha’s look.

Logan’s subtle pinstripe suit is quite nice, yes, but we’re more focused on the boss’s sunglasses from the second episode of season four. Logan wore the rectangular shades when stalking around the ATN offices, causing Greg to compare him to Santa Claus, you know, if the jolly Christmas character was a hitman. The glasses in question are from Persol, and they’re probably one of the more inexpensive items you’ll find from this show.

Next week, Willa will don a wedding dress for her nuptials, but on episode two, the bride-to-be opted to wear a white suit for her rehearsal dinner (at least for the portion she attended). The crepe blazer with a side tie is from Marella, and unfortunately it’s sold out, but we found some similar pieces in case you also want to run out of your rehearsal dinner in style.

The biggest style star of the season four premiere was undoubtedly Naomi Pierce, who stepped out of her family’s northern California estate showing off a new haircut, and the continuation of her chic, black and white wardrobe. Per usual, the heiress’s look came mostly from Proenza Schouler in the form of a black knit tank top expertly tucked into her white wide leg pants. Both the shirt and pants are, unfortunately, out of stock, but we found some similar pieces for you to copy the ensemble. Tom Ford sunglasses added an air of mystery to her look, while Sophie Buhai pearl drop earrings brought a touch of elegance.

If Naomi Pierce represented the fashion high of the first episode, Greg’s date to Logan’s birthday bash was, unfortunately for her, the low. One of the standout moments of the premiere came when Tom called out Bridget “Randomfuck” and her “ludicrously capacious” bag. While everyone else at the party was likely carrying their Kellys, Bridget paired her black and white floral Sandro dress with a leather bag from Burberry, embossed with the British brand’s famous check. Definitely not quiet luxury.

Shiv spent the majority of episode one running from California mansion to California mansion, trying to best her father and purchase PGM with the other new gen Roys. Luckily, she dressed comfortably for the task, wearing a light brown blazer with some relaxed, drawstring striped pants, both from MaxMara (and both, unfortunately, out of stock). A cotton and leather tote from Spanish brand Hereu and brown suede Aquatalia heels accessorized the look. On top, the ex-politico wore a dark brown, body-hugging tank, and many on the Internet believe the piece could possibly be a bodysuit from none other than Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line. It seems very un-Shiv to wear something so trendy, but hey, we know she doesn’t have her full wardrobe at her disposable at the moment, maybe she needed to reinforce it with some basics from Skims.

J. Smith Cameron was criminally underused in the season’s first episode, but her outfit for Logan’s bash still deserves a moment in the spotlight. The Waystar executive kept it simple for the event, wearing a black fitted Emporio Armani jacket with white trim (see it in white below). The piece was nice enough for a daytime birthday of Roy caliber, but easily transitioned into a late night of advising the family patriarch.

Not many in the Succession universe would wear a bright blue suit, but Matland’s decision to put Logan’s “friend, assistant, and advisor,” in such a conspicuous look is genius. She doesn’t fit into the world of the Roy’s no matter how hard she tries, and no one (especially not Logan’s children) will let her forget that. That doesn’t make Kerry’s Sergio Hudson blazer any less stylish, it just means in the context of which she finds herself, it probably wasn’t the right choice. Check out a similar style below, just don’t wear it to the birthday party of a media bigwig.

Nan Pierce isn’t necessarily considered a style icon, but she has mastered the rich woman who lounges at her Northern California estate all day look. In the premiere episode, Nan did absolute nothing but sit in her living room in a striped button down and tan slacks from Lafayette 148 as she made 10 billion dollars. It absolutely does not get better than that.

Kendall Roy’s mastery of coded luxury is unmatched by any of his contemporaries. Take his look in the premiere. It’s simple, fairly inconspicuous—jeans, a tee, bomber jacket, and baseball cap. In reality, his entire outfit, including his sneakers (not pictured) totaled to almost $10K. That’s what happens when you wear all Tom Ford with a touch of Gucci, Loro Piana, and those limited edition Jacques Marie Mage glasses.

As the patriarch of the Roy clan (and the man that taught all these morons how to dress), Logan Roy often has preppier style than the rest of his family, and opts for Ralph Lauren, Barbour, and the like. Of course, his birthday was no different, and while Logan may not have felt comfortable at his party (“Why is everybody so fucking happy?”), he at least looked it. The man in charge wore a double-breasted cashmere cardigan from gasp Polo with a blue checked button down underneath. It was the look he wore to take his meditative walk through the park, however— with a nondescript cap to match Kendall’s and a scarf perfectly tucked into his Ralph Lauren jacket—which we’re dubbing his best ensemble of the night.

The evolution of Tom Wambsgans style on Succession has been an interesting one. “Tom always attempted to dress dapperly to compensate for his feelings of inadequacy toward his new family’s established wealth and stature,” Matland told W. It took him awhile to find his footing, style-wise, but now, in season four he seems to have finally come into his own. On the first episode, the new-found bachelor wore a dark blue wool suit from Canali when he grabbed a drink with Naomi Pierce, proving just how far he has come since we first met the St. Paul prince.
