Did you know that there is a place in the Philippines that celebrates the scarecrow? Every fourth week of January, the people of Ilagan City, Isabela Province, come together to celebrate the “bambanti” (Ilocano word for scarecrow). As the second largest province in the Philippines, Isabela is responsible for producing various agricultural products, including grains.
