Tamarama award-winning home sells for $30m – Beragampengetahuan

20 Thompson St, Tamarama has sold for $30m in an off-market deal.

An award-winning home built around a sandstone rock formation at Tamarama has sold for a mega price.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom concrete-and-glass residence with double garage at 20 Thompson St has sold for $30m off-market via Simon Exleton of Pillinger.

Exleton had no comment when contacted, though local sources confirmed the recent deal. Rumours had been circulating for weeks.

No surprises that this home won an MBA award.

Incredible views of Tamarama Beach and the coastline.

The Andre Baroukh-designed house, which won an MBA award soon after it was built in 2013, is a stunner and has panoramic views of Tamarama Beach and down the coast.

The vendors, endodontist Alan Nerwich and his wife, Regina, had bought the old home on the 525sqm block for $1.42m in 1997 and replaced it with the three-level dream home with pool and spa.

The property had been on the market last year for two months with another agent who had been referencing the $25.5m sale in 2021 of 27 Thompson St, bought by Kim Robinson, wife of Nik Robinson, chief executive of online gaming company Big Time Gaming.

The house is built around a sandstone rock formation.

There’s a pool and spa in the back yard.

A top spot for breakfast.

That had been the street record — until now. And Exleton has been able to get $4.5m more than that.

No doubt the sale was assisted by the fact developer Marco Rosso’s hole in the ground at 21 Thompson St that sold for $13.25m in June 2021 now has an asking price of $30m and it’s still a hole in the ground.

And it makes another award-winning home at 40 Gardyne St, Bronte, owned by the developer Andrew Podgornik and his wife, Chloe, look good value with its $30m+ guide via Exleton.

The most expensive house ever sold in Tamarama is ‘Lang Syne”, which is on a similar 1100sqm block to the Gardyne St property. That sold in May for $45m to advertising guru David Droga.
