Opponent watch: Cadiz set to be without four players for Barcelona encounter – Beragampengetahuan

Barcelona will be aiming to register their first win of the 2023/24 La Liga season when they lock horns with Cadiz this Sunday.

It will be the Blaugrana’s first official game of the season at their temporary home, Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic.

After the disappointment of the opening day goalless draw against Getafe, Xavi Hernandez & co. will be aiming to get back on track and bag three points.

Four players absent for Cadiz

And Barcelona could have an advantage over their opponents on Sunday night as Cadiz are set to be without as many as four important players for the game, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Indeed, Cadiz will be unable to count on new signings Gonzalo Escalante and Sergi Guardiola, along with Victor Chust and Brian Ocampo.

Escalante misses out on the contest due to suspension after being sent off in the Andalusian outfit’s season opener against Deportivo Alaves.

As for the other three players, Guardiola (pubalgia), Ocampo (ACL), and Chust (rupture of the rectus femoris) are all currently on the mend from their injuries and will be unavailable for manager Sergio Gonzalez.

Playing Barça at home is a huge challenge and doing so with several casualties makes things much more difficult for Cadiz.

Barcelona also missing players

Barcelona themselves will be dealing with a few missing players for Sunday’s clash as Raphinha is suspended for the match after being sent off against Getafe.

Meanwhile, Inigo Martinez is still not ready to return to action despite having trained with the rest of the group for the first time today.

On top of that, Ronald Araujo will also be unavailable after injuring his thigh earlier today, which is set to sideline him for a month.
