Richmond Football Club boss Brendon Gale’s Brighton pad listed for sale with hidden room – Beragampengetahuan
397 New St Brighton has hit the market.
Richmond Football Club’s chief executive is selling up his property in Brighton’s north, which is reminiscent of a Manhattan pad.
Brendon Gale played for the Tigers between 1990 to 2001 before he began practising law at King Wood Mallesons.
He then went on to become the AFL Players’ Association chief executive from 2005 to 2009, before he was appointed the chief executive of Richmond.

Public records show the footy big wig’s wife holds the title to the five-bedroom abode at 397 New St which has $6-$6.6m price hopes.
The expansive property was purchased in October 2008 for $2.525m and underwent a renovation in May 2016 for around $974,000.

Buxton Brighton director Stefan Whiting declined to comment on the owner of the property, but said one of the major draw cards was the expansive floor plan, which offered a number of different rooms to escape to for quiet time.
“It was renovated in 2016 to provide a variety of spaces for a large family and creates contemporary rustic design while maintaining the integrity of the original home,” he said.
“They’ve got a coastal variety of plants in the garden which formerly was an English garden.”
In the brief to architect Ben Lempriere who designed the renovation, Mr Whiting said the owners wanted a “New York” and “Melbourne laneway” feel for their family home.
Another living zone with timber strapped ceilings.
He added that the high vaulted ceilings, period detail and a pivoting door discreetly separating a bedroom and a sitting room were unique and charming details.
“There’s a whole wall that is on a pivot; you can pivot the wall like a door and turn one room into two,” he said.
“It’s really close to Brighton Grammar and Firbank which are two really good private schools in Brighton.
“It’s going to appeal to families that might not have considered Brighton like from Middle Park or Elwood where homes like this (on this size block) just don’t exist.”
Originally built in 1917, the Edwardian abode is set on a 1288sq m block with exposed wooden beams, reclaimed brickwork, double height light wells and box bay windows.
The gas heated pool and veranda.
In the kitchen, there is a freestanding Belling cooker, stone island, and custom joinery including a butler’s pantry and integrated bar.
The large main bedroom has his and her robes and ensuite while upstairs, there are another three bedrooms all with built-in robes or dressing rooms.
Hinting at the home’s original Edwardian character is the home office which could also be used as a cigar room, formal dining room and lounge all with open fireplaces and on the ground floor.
Outside, there is a shower, gas heated pool, remote double garage, auto-gated driveway and tessellated-tiled veranda.
Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Tuesday, 27 February.
