Hogan, dissatisfied with both presidential candidates, won’t say who he’ll vote for – Beragampengetahuan

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Larry Hogan declined to say Thursday night during a candidate forum who he will vote for in the presidential election, but assured viewers it won’t be Donald Trump.

Hogan, who has long been critical of Trump — the former president and his party’s nominee — said he cast a write-in vote for his father, former U.S. Rep. Larry Hogan Sr., in 2016 rather than vote for Trump. His father died in 2017.

Four years later, in 2020, Hogan said he cast a write-in ballot for the late former President Ronald Reagan.

Hogan’s responses came in a televised town hall-style forum hosted by FOX45 News’ Mikenzie Frost.

Frost asked Hogan whether he was sending a “wrong message” by not voting for one of the candidates on the ballot. He has expressed dissatisfaction with Trump as well as Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I’m going to make that decision just like all the other voters out there,” Hogan said on FOX45 on Thursday night. “Really that’s what our democracy is all about. People are supposed to make their own decisions when they go behind that curtain.”

Earlier in the day, Hogan’s Democratic opponent, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, criticized him during a debate for not being willing to vote for either candidate.

Frost said Alsobrooks declined an invitation to appear with Hogan at Thursday’s town hall.
